My name is Hiralben Pandya. I am the leader of applied projects. My education background is I have completed my Bachelors in Financial Markets where I have the knowledge of markets, accounts,  and finance. Along with this education, I have work experience as a customer service representative where I used to handle their book-keeping.  Currently, I am pursuing Global Business Management at Fleming College and working as a part-time employee in Walmart as a customer fulfillment associate.

 

My name is Arshpreet Kaur. I am a graduate with Bachelors’s of commerce and currently enrolled in Global Business Management. I like to listen to Ted-talks and reading motivational quotes. My position in the Applied project is ‘Co-ordinator’. I worked on assigning the project’s work to the delegating members.
My name is Amritbir Kaur and I have with Master of Commerce in my previous study. This five-year knowledge and experience of accounting transactions, marketing, and finance helps to my team. As a team member, I am working on the financial and accounting requirements of our sponsor in the applied project and my responsibility is to review all the financial work in the team.
My name is Diksha Chhabra. I graduated with Bachelors of Commerce and currently enrolled in Global Business Management. My role in the applied project is to edit videos made by other team members. I like to edit photos and videos. This assignment has also helped me to learn new skills and features of modifying.

Brief Description Of Project:

To research, recommend and implement an accounting software program and efficient workflow processes

Project Objective:

The objective of our project is to research and provide accounting software applications recommendations that can manage multi-currencies, HST/GST, and account reconciliation. Also, to implement recommendations for internal reporting processes.


Project Innovation:

We used workflow with instructions of one-click solution such as QuickBooks software for the smooth running of accounting concepts in a business project. As workflow contain links and screenshot of all the information in advised software for the ease of Jessica.

One-click software needs input data in accounting terms and provides sorted data as an outcome. The workflow contains all the information about profit and loss account, Accounts Receivables and payable,  HST Collection and Payments, Transaction costs, Reconciliation as per the requirements of Jessica.

Challenges & Solutions:

The obstacles were that they were finding difficulty in reconciling the accounts and their journal entries didn’t match at the end. So, we researched all about the software (Charge bee) the company was using and also suggested two more software (QuickBooks and Freshbooks) with comparisons between all three. The obstacle we found was we were confused about the accounting standards and some software such as stripe which we were not aware of. After that, we watched a lot of Youtube Videos, and google searched every concept. Then, we finally suggested them QuickBooks as the new system by creating a workflow of each and every concern they were facing.

Project Results or Progress:

We created a workflow and explained step to step instructions along with screenshots that support our explanation.  Over the next four weeks, we will be showing her QuickBooks and how it works on a real platform. It will help her review all the reports and record her transactions accurately.


Lessons Learned:

Lessons learned through this are about accounting software on a digitalized platform. Dealing with accounting terms in a real business world. We learned that how to conduct a meeting, communicating with the sponsor in a business language,  creating agendas, creating meeting minutes post-meeting.  This project has made us learned about ourselves as individuals and also each other as a team and handling all the challenges together.
