Sponsor Organisation:

Enactus Fleming College

Brief Description Of Project:

Research and recommend options for the development and sustainability of the Enactus Fleming College Paper Planet Project.

Project Objective:

Our objective is to bring full automation in the production of the paper planters for Enactus Paper Planet Project. We contacted both paper based and non-paper based companies for volunteer paper supply used in shredded form for paper planters.

Project Innovation:

The scope of Paper Planet is to discover and increasing production level with less human resource, converting production in fully automation to minimize cost of production effectively. The new idea of paper brick was presented with an innovative outcome of diverting paper sustainably. The goal here is to divert paper into bricks for the purpose of using in ceilings and walls.

Collaborating with Enactus Fleming College, team members and sponsor, our scope is to maximize the production level with the help of secondary research. The team will mainly focus on the successful launch of machinery. Moreover, focusing on the expectations of the sponsor with all required permissions.

Challenges & Solutions:

As Enactus paper pattern was a start up and there were difficulties which were faced by the group and lot of time it invested for the preparation of the pace for the organisation.
As per the sponsor requirements we had to build machine for the paper recycling and to find the engineer was a big task and we had found engineer, who helped in sketch of the paper recycling machine. Regarding the paper planters, we had very little knowledge on how was the planters being made and with proper explanation from the sponsor everything was clear. Team conflicts as usual in every team was happening, with this team also and we are still solving the issues.

Project Results or Progress:

We as a team came together in a project for an outcome of providing fully automation in the production of paper planters for Enactus Paper Project. We have introduced new concept of Paper Brick Machine for diverting shredded paper into paper bricks, which will be shortly introduced by Enactus Fleming College. However, contacting many local organization for supply of used paper voluntarily. With all this means, we will increase the production at the end of this course.

Lessons Learned:

With the Independent learning, new skills and techniques were gained in the areas of self-development, nurturing and also understanding of the actual problems which required accurate and appropriate solutions. Understanding the mistakes and act accordingly, using self reflection to pay attention to own thoughts, to improve own mistakes and identify the means of solving issues. We together became a problem solver.
