I have completed my Master’s in computer science from India and currently I am perusing my Post Graduate Diploma in Wireless Information Networking from Fleming College. I have worked as a team lead in this project. due to interest in different programming languages i decided to implement my knowledge and enhance my skills in this project. Being a Team leader, I always tried my best to make the project work fine and the team member doing their work properly. With all this, I managed to create a balance among the team members and made sure that every team member is contributing equally in the development of the website.

I have completed my Bachelors of engineering in computer science from back home India. Currently, I am pursuing my post graduate diploma in wireless information networking from Fleming College. In this project, I have tested the website time to time to make sure that the website is error free. Along with bug fixing, I have managed to handle every kind of risks that occurred while the development of the website. Apart from this, I ensured the proper functioning of the website in real-time working phase.

Role: Communication and Documentation Handling

I had completed my graduation in Information Technology from India. Currently, I am enrolled in Wireless Information Networking. I have played the role of communication manager throughout the making of the website. Along with this, I have worked on preparing an effective documentation for the future reference. Throughout the period, I managed to setup the time to time meetings with the sponsor, mentor and within the team. Sending the meeting invites and then keeping the records of what we discussed in those meetings was also a part of my responsibilities.

Role: Database Management and Website layout Designer

I have accomplished my graduation in Electrical Engineering. I am currently enrolled in Wireless Information Networking in Fleming College. During the time period of making this website, I have handled the backend database of the website. I created database using MySQL and added the required content to it on timely manner. Along with this, I managed to designed the layout of the website by keeping in mind the requirements of the sponsor. With all the feedback and the comments provided by sponsor, I ensured reflecting changes on the website, accordingly.

Brief Description Of Project:

“Ukti – Centre for Movement and Arts” founded by Mithila Ballal is a platform for budding artists to express themselves through various dance forms such as Indian Contemporary, Bollywood and Indian classical dance. This website will serve as a great forum, especially for classical Indian dance styles, for artists or beginners who are passionate about dance. Keeping in mind the current pandemic situation, organization provided us various flexible schedules for online dance classes to be displayed on the website for the convenience of the users. The team has done the hardest to make this website appealing enough by fulfilling all the sponsor’s expectations so that when visiting the website, it will give both administrator and customer a fantastic experience.

Project Objective:

The main objective of this project was to create a well maintained website to support promotion of the business named ‘Ukti- centre of Movement and Arts’. Team was focused enough to design a website with attractive, fresh and sleek look by using existing logo and visual media and to offer friendly access to users through easy navigation and accessibility of content. Throughout development phase, we made sure to fulfill all pre defined objectives as To build a platform to manage access for a large pool of users and to have proper maintenance of website for more secure and efficient processing.

Project Innovation:

Through this project, We have got an opportunity to represent our skills and implement for making an effective website. All the team members provided their innovative ideas in order to make the website look more appealing. From different available platforms, we decided to use PHP and MySQL for developing the website. When it comes to innovation, we added Google Analytics for tracking the number of visitors to website as well as we tried making the website secure by implementing SSL security feature. The code has been kept less complex for easy understanding.

Challenges & Solutions:

As we did not have the advanced knowledge in coding, it was a bit challenging for us to create an innovative and attractive website. As a solution, we surfed a number of websites and tried to find out the possible software’s/tools and platforms to help us learn the complex PHP coding.

Sponsor wanted us to interlink the website to the social media accounts of the organization using Mailchimp. But, the team faced issues while implementing this feature using PHP as it can only be supported by WordPress. As a solution, we suggested an alternative way to link the website by adding the social media icons to the website.

Project Results or Progress:

As a result of the hard work of the team, We are finally able to Implement an easy-to-use content management system and made website accessible to search engine spiders. Moreover, the team worked well to manage database from backend conveniently for handling visual media and users information. Also, we added the SSL certification and organization’s Privacy policy to provide secure access for the website.

Lessons Learned:

During the development phase of the website, we were able to acquire many new skills and advanced knowledge of using different tools required in creation of the website like Text Editor, Localhost and many more. Along with this, we learned about the implementation of many features to the website such as Google Analytics, SSL Certification, MySQL. We got to learn about various testing tools available for performing tests on the website for ensuring proper working of the website. We will benefit from these skills in future when working in IT sector.
